HELL'S BELLE - probable B-24J-CO/CF

#3   15AF H-FO

#4

HOT BOX

#5   That's a Pacific aerial array censored out and a nav window ball which means a D1 - 42-4**** or 42-72***

HOT BUDDY

#6   8AF B-24J; there are anumber of possibilities here: in the range 42-100336/435 or 42-109789/ 42-110188 and44BG

HOT STUFF

#7   B-24L/M-CO

HOT TO GO YOU LUCKY GIRLS

#8   Huey Louie Dewey; the strange effect on the nose is a double exposure; turn your head sideways & you'll see the cockpit & upper turret of another B-24; B-24J/L/M-C

#9  This may be an un-finished work

#10

IRENE

#11  This was with a bunch of SWP photos - a B-24D1 in the 42-41*** range

IRENE

#12

STALAG LUFT III - I WANTED WINGS

#13   H-FO

Suggested as 42-95555 389BG 564BS known as THE JOKER, but that's a J-1-FO and this is definitely an H.

#14   448BG?  B-24H/J-FO

JUST FOR CHARLIE

IDENTIFIED

This is the other side of 42-50767 WAZZLE DAZZLE, 448BG 715BS

#16   B-24J-CO

"LADY LUCK II"

#17   B-24L/M-FO

"LADY" X

#18   465BG?   B-24H/J-FO

LIBERTY RUN

#22 General Hale; B-24J-CO of 11BG

LITTLE BUTCH

#23   F-7A

LITTLE ??? maybe JINX, maybe MAX

#231   As pointed out by Phil Marchese, this is one of the early, 56 short serialled, B-24D-COs.  The original rubber tail bumper is a good indication also.  Serial range 41-1087 to -1142, many of these went to the RAF.  My money is on one of the eight 11AF 28BG aircraft.

LORELEI

#24   H-25-30 LUCILLE

From Tom Brittan: One of......

H-25 FO 42-95034 8 93 328 GO F - flown by 409BS crew, crashed 12 Jun 44.
H-25 FO 42-95039 8 93 330 AG N - lost 20 Jun 44.
H-25 FO 42-95147 8 93 328 GO S, transferred in Aug 44 to 329 RE M, reverted in Jan 45 to 328 GO S - RZI.

I think that more photos would be around if it were 42-95147 so my sweet spot is one of the first two which were at Hardwick for only a few weeks

#25  What it loses in spelling it picks up with punch; B-24H/J-DT

THE MALIGNENT BITCH

#26   Pacific, looks SPA; B-24D1 possibly of 5BG 31BS

'MARLENE'

#27   Most likely a B-24L-1/10-FO

MICKY

#28

MISERABLE BASTARD

#29

MISS BEE HAVEN

#30   B-24H/J-FO

#31  Not 100% certain that it's a B-24

MISS LACE

#32   Pacific, SWP probably, B-24D1

MISS LIBERTY BELLE

#33 reportedly 11BG; B-24J-CO

MISS AMERICA

MULTA BONA

#36 Confirmed 308BG.  374BS B-24D1 - Oklahoma City Air Depot nose mod (Pete Johnston)

"MY ACHIN' BACK"

#37

NEW HOPE

#38  Known to b a 22BG J-CO but not idenified

O.R. AKINBACK

#39   DEROS date?  A close look at the artwork reveals that the name is...

TIME WILL TELL

#40   B-24J-CO

OLD TAYLOR

#41   B-24D1

OL' TYLER

#42   308BG maybe; B-24D

ON "WISCONSIN"

#43  This refers to the waist hatch

OPEN FOR BUSINESS

#44   R or T ??

TOUGH HARRY

#45   F-7 IN THE 42-63*** CF range

OVER EXPOSURE

#46  Need your imaginaton for this one; Pete thinks it might be the 90BG B-24D, TOKIO EXPRESS, but I can't see it myself

OWI EXPRESS

#47   A clip off movie film and not 100% B-24; Phil Marchese says it's a 48BS B-25G, 41BG VIIBC

PAPER DOLL

#48   Now that I enlarge this I see the same artistic hand which produced some of the early 90BG artworks - he just couldn't help adding those "bell" endings to the words.  I think this might be an early version of 42-40594, or maybe even a predecessor.  Insufficient detail to try & narrow the B-24D series.

PISTOL PACKIN' MAMA

#49   This might be another

PISTOL PACKIN' MAMA

#50   Referred to me as an RCAF aircraft

PISTOL PACKIN' MOM(M)A

#51   Warton again, I'm sure.  Not the identified PLAYBOY, but another H-FO which no doubt lost its artwork with the 8AF armour so was renamed

PLAYBOY

#52   B-24J-CO

POISON IVEY

#53   Portuguese B-24Ds, but no idents; this is quite a good-sized print if you click on it

#54   Not much to go on, but certainly B-24

PRETTY BABY

#55

THE PUGNOSE PRINCESS

#56   B-24J/L-CO

PURPLE SHAFT

#57  J-CO

QUEENIE

#58   Don't be fooled by the colour; OD is often seen like this in early color images, despite what appear to be true renditions of other colours, no doubt caused by the early film dyes.  Interestingly, OD goes a similar color after 50 years in tropical sun because of the colour base in the paint.

RAZZLE-DAZZLE!

#59   Not much here to go on here - but that straight paint line says CO & probably a D

PISTOL PACKIN' MAMA

#60  Logo is 4PRS & it's an F-7B

Bill Niemeier has sent another photo - similar crop though - and suggests it could be F-7B 44-42707.  He may be correct, but all other 4PRS F-7Bs have been shown to be in the 44-40*** block, while the majority of the 44-42*** block never left the US.  UNCONFIRMED

4-F - AND HOW!

#61   4PRS F-7B coded 4-F and may well refer back to #281

DEAR MRS MAYFIELD

#62   Similar to #3/22, but this one's an OKC B-24D1

"LITTLE BUTCH"

#63  Another 4PRG F-7

OLE BOOMERANG

#64  F-7, 4PRG coded 4-K

PHOTO JEANNE

#65   No nav window - a Stateside B-24E, maybe a -DT

Pete Johnston: The stripe on the nose is the same as a known 19 Tow Target Squadron aircraft & the name would be suitable for such a role

RICOCHET

#66  A B-24H-FO SAD SACK suggested as 450BG

-

#67  Hey, we've seen this before at #2/21, but no name then; B-24H

Tom Brittan: The name was painted on a new B-24H DT (S/N unknown) for Robert L. McKenzie and his crew while they were still at Topeka, Kansas, awaiting posting overseas. In the event, they travelled to Europe by sea and were assigned as a replacement crew to 467 BG, 790 BS, flying their first mission on 24 Jul 44. They never again saw SALLY FORTH which may have gone to the MTO.

SALLY FORTH

#68   An anonymous combat veteran - appears to have a Pacific mod on the Command Deck

-

#69   J-CO

SEMPER PIZZDOFF

#70   Nope; 42-73033 was an F-7 which I already have a photo of, with different spelling; this is a

B-24G-NT 42-78***
