#1  B-24D-CO stateside trainer; likely no later than 42-40745 with that insignia

SPIRIT OF BEVERLY HILLS SCHOOLS

#2   Ford publicity shot; B-24J-1/5-FO

SPIRIT OF MT SINAI, DETROIT

#3   Probably a stateside trainer - B-24D-CO

SPIRIT OF POCAHONTAS

#4  B-24L/M-CO

STERILE ANN

#5  no information at all on this B-24H/J-DT

SUZY

#6   Even more ephemeral that most of these artworks: this B-24H-F's art is in chalk

SWEETIE PIE

#7  Robert E Ma******; B-24L/M-FO

SWEET REVENGE

#8  Another chalked name, this time on a Pacific-bound B-24J-CO, stateside

Darin Scorza, 458BG Historian, has a good suggestion for the name - SWEET LORRAINE

SWEET ********

#9  Whoops - now that I get a better look, I can see that this is a B-25!

#10   B-24H/J-FO

TEST HOP TILLIE

#11   Same artwork as on #151 by the look of it, but an earlier J-CO

#12   F-7A

TIME'S A WASTIN'

#13  Pacific B-24J-CO

TOJO TROUBLE

#14  Retreaded FAD/MAD B-24D1 now an RB-24D; possibly 42-72871.

TOMMY

#15   Stateside trainer; B-24J-1/5-FO

TRULA MARIE

#16  Rings no bells with me other than a B-24J-CO; artwork is 30BG-style

#17  Hard to tell, but the marking MIGHT be 22nd BG logo

Ahh - as pointed out by Pete Johnston, NOT 22BG since this is a B-24D1 and the 22nd only used them in training in Australia, and the location is not Australia

#18   This FO looks like it was run into by something else while it was parked.  #3 prop seems to be gone & #4 is bent

#19   St Louis Type one cheek modification, Pink paint, possibly a Sniffer (shipping kills)

#20   I have a feeling that the TEAM reviewed this a little while back & I missed that I already had this photo; a B-24G-5/15-NT - 42-78***

#21  CB-24D Admiral's Barge.  It was taken in Fiji (Nandi), but I have a feeling this is a stateside-based aircraft on a tour

#22   Look suspiciously like the country around San Diego; Convair publicity shot of an L-CO?

IDENTIFIED

Paul Jarvis has supplied a higher rez scan of this photo.  Country still looks like San Diego, but this is F-7B 44-42691 (camera ports are visible in the new scan).  This must have been prior to overseas deployment as this serial is recorded as operating with F-13s as part of the 3rd PRS, XXth AF.

#23  Bloody awful scan, but it's a C-109 I think, ETO rather than CBI

#24   The engineers aren't going to be happy!

#25  Sure ain't the Pacific!  Partial name - H-25/30 or J-401 42-50*** 8AF

Painted cowls point towards 466BG, 784BS (red) or 785BS (blue) or 491BG 852BS (red) but there is no record of any of the above models of B-14 from these units suffering such heavy damage

#26   An anonymous B-24DAS

#27   B-24H-FO

#28   Leyte, B-24L-FO #54....possibly a 5 or 494BG B-24, last 2 of 54

#29   Early model (low pitot) B-24D; unusual in that it has paddle props (needle would have been expected this early) and also the Direct Vision Window.. Late insignia on the aircraft behind seems to suggest that this has had mods, but not to the pitot, which would have been expected.  Compare with #345 below.  The lack of armament, late insignia and even the look of the crew makes me think that this is an RB-24D

#30   Almost certainly a Ward's Strip revetment, early B-24D...thinking 90BG; 41-1****

#31   OKC D1, stateside; Scott Project?  The source of the image said this was taken in Kansas

#332  See below

#33   An OKC RB-24D1, looks like Morotai  THIS IS ONE WHICH I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT!

Likely serials are: 42-41126, 42-41132, 42-41241, 42-41242, 42-72792, 42-72809, 42-72819, 42-72821, 42-72824, 42-72825, 42-72826  - the blue being the most likely candidates

#34   Not a comforting sight

#35   Page Field (Ft Myers) 1942, avery early B-24D

#36   Popeye? B-24J-CO/CF with A6 turret.  J-140-CO area & comparable -CF

#37   RB-24x maybe; note braced pitot.

#38   Sicily.  Boy, that was dirty developer!

#39   Line up in Switzerland

#40   Switzerland; Tom thinks this is 376BG markings, but no 376BG aircraft are known to have landed in Switzerland.  Either the markings are wrong, or the caption is.

#41   Surely the result of a taxy accident?

#42   Blowed if I know - turret faired over

#43   B-24H-FO

#44   ZI trainer it appears - old star with added bars; serial 41-1* 9*3.

#45   H-25/J-5 MTO

#46  Did the chalk ever get painted?

URGENT VIRGIN

#47   Apparently this was...

USAFI GREMLIN

#48   Some sort of Virgin - probable H/J-CF or even G

#49

VIRGIN II.?

#50   B-24H/J-DT - possibly B-24J-185/L-1-CO

THE VIVACIOUS VIRGIN

#51   Probably a ZI trainer, B-24D

THE VULTURE

#52   15AF.  B-24J-10/20-FO

WATT'S COOKIN'?

#53   Pacific B-24D1 With leads from a couple of members of the B-24 Team, this aircraft has been tracked to the 5th BG...but no closer yet.

WHE-E-E-E

#54   Probably ony a partial name

WILLI*

#55   Note the lack of armament; J-NT or L/M-CO

WILLIE'S FOLLY

#56  Jeanne Crain dedicated the artwork & that's her name at the bottom. J-NT or L/M-CO

WINGED VICTORY

#57   B-24H-FO; suspected to be a 445BG 702BS unidentified aircraft - probably 42-7604 or 42-7605.

WOLFE PACK

#58   A Bodenplatte victim

#59

THE YUGO 'KID'

#60   You'd think that with the limited number of RAAF B-24s that there were, IDs would be easy to come by; not so, as here's a few I've found; this one is the Commonwealth Coat of Arms.

ADVANCE AUSTRALIA

#61  No details, but more than likely 24 Squadron

PISTOL PACKIN MOMMA

#62   On this you can see the RAAF roundel, and another shot shows squadron code GR (24 Squadron) and what might be aircraft letter "G"; this would be a nice one to ident

THE SCREAMIN' EAGLE

#63   Not an awful lot is known about the aircraft of 102 Squadron, and this is the only artwork known on a squadron aircraft - but we don't know which one!  Like many RAAF B-24s, A J-NT.

WOLF

#64   Another Alley Oop - 465BG almost certainly, but occasionally suggested to 464BG

B-24H-25/J-5-FO

ALLEY OOP

#65   This one IS 464BG; B-24H-DT-5/15 - 41-28***

ALL MEAT NO POTATOES

#66   Known to be 11BG - and a B-24J-CO from details on another photo

ANGELA

#67   PB4Y-2 - with a little play on words, with that spelling.

ANGEL IN DI-SKIES
